Source the product; sell the product—this is how many wire and cable companies think about their business. But, at Paige, they see things differently. They understand that a universal approach actually meets the needs of no one; that industries need personalized, one-off solutions. Paige is dedicated to serving their customers by designing, manufacturing, and distributing custom engineered flexible cables, assemblies, and harnesses.

By investing in better equipment and better employees, they’ve positioned themselves as trusted partners, advisors, and industry experts who know how to provide exactly what their customers are looking for. This is likely why they’ve enjoyed continued success for more than 60 years with top client tenures averaging over 20 years.

While the last few years have presented several obstacles from tariffs, the global pandemic and ensuing supply chain complications, Paige views these challenges as opportunities for growth. And, thanks to the way they’ve rebounded and evolved, they’ve almost doubled their business.

Currently, Paige is working to address supply chain concerns around long lead times. They combat this issue with a broad and diverse network of international and domestic metal suppliers. Another way they bypass disruptions is via dedicated stocking programs that run across numerous U.S. warehouses. Because they know that adhering to deadlines is a crucial component of a project’s success, they have a wide selection of in-stock inventory with same day shipping.

Another issue Paige is tackling is unmet needs in the industry, filling the gaps that others leave behind. This quest to led them to create one of their key products, Game Changer® cable—an upgraded Cat6 Ethernet cable that connects IT networking infrastructure beyond the conventional 100-meter limit and allows businesses to drive cost and time savings. Through its ability to consistently deliver one gigabyte of throughput across 200 meters, the Game Changer cable minimizes downtime instances caused by cable failures.

Paige’s newest and fastest growing division focuses on the Renewable Energy Market, providing the cabling infrastructure needed to support Utility-scale Solar and Wind projects.

They now provide a full line of electrical products, including wires, harnesses, and string assemblies designed, manufactured and even packaged specifically for utility-scale solar projects. Recently, they transformed millions of feet of cable into tens of thousands of individualized connectorized assemblies to empower a large-scale utility project. The assemblies utilized were of varying lengths with dedicated labeling and packaging that precisely aligned with client specifications, boosting ease of use in the field.

“We view ourselves as an extension of our customers’ teams in terms of engineering, sales, and market knowledge. We work closely with our customer’s engineering groups to design products from inception to production and after-market,” says Brandon Nagler, CEO of Paige.

The experts at Paige value engineer customers’ existing designs to ensure the product is optimized for the application, meaning the sooner Paige is involved in the process, the more value the company provides to a project. Its robust production and R&D testing capabilities are supported by dedicated manufacturing facilities in Nebraska and Mexico. These campuses enable Paige to conduct a host of testing that ensures products perform without mishaps when deployed in the field.

Recently, Paige was brought in to assist a large original equipment manufacturer that supplies motors to an electric mower manufacturer. To address the customers’ specific needs, they developed a motor drive cable that facilitated reliable and efficient production of the electric mower fleet, enabling its timely introduction to the market. This story is just one example of the value that Paige brings during the early stages of product development and illustrates how well-positioned the firm is to capitalize on the growing trend of electrification in the heavy machinery space.

Paige knows that growth has to happen in both the literal sense as well as the figurative. That’s why they’re doing more than expanding their offerings, they’re expanding their footprint. They recently doubled the volume of their distribution facilities across the U.S. and increased their Mexico-based cable assembly operations. Working with its global customers, Paige has expanded its worldwide presence with distribution facilities in Europe and China to service customers around the world.
